G.E.M. 邓紫棋G.E.M.生於上海的一個音樂家庭,從小受到音樂熏陶,很早便顯露出非凡的音樂天賦,5歲開始創作,13歲完成鋼琴8級,初中開始參加各種歌唱比賽……
在2006年Spice It Up 學園祭比賽上,年僅15歲的G.E.M.一舉奪得冠軍,從而被發掘進入蜂鳥音樂成為歌手。
2008年G.E.M.正式出道,分別於08年,09年及10年發表《G.E.M.》、《18…》及《MySecret》三張創作專輯與特別版本。
2009年,剛出道不久的G.E.M.獲得了叱吒樂壇生力軍女歌手金獎,成為該獎項歷年來最年輕且第一位未成年的得獎者,同時也橫掃了香港其他各大音樂頒獎禮的新人獎項。 G.E.M.出色的表現更令她得到不少前輩歌手的點名公開讚揚。
2009年11月,G.E.M.於香港Star Hall舉辦首個個人演唱會《G.E.M. 18 Live 2009 演唱會》,因反應熱烈,由原本的兩場加開至三場,演唱實力和表現受到樂迷和傳媒的高度評價,成為現今香港年輕人最喜愛的歌手之一。
2011 年5月14-16日,G.E.M.在香港紅館舉辦了一連三場的“Get Everybody Moving 2011” 演唱會。演唱會門票預售及正式發售均於極短時間內被搶購一空,而G.E.M.也成為了於紅館開個人演唱會的最年輕香港女歌手。
Short for Get Everybody Moving, G.E.M. the unique name symbolizes her dream of inspiring people through her voice and her music.
Born into a musical family, G.E.M.’s grandfather is a professional saxophone player, her grandmother was a professional Chinese Opera singer/teacher while G.E.M.’s mother studies vocal performances in University in Shanghai.
With music being deeply imprinted in G.E.M.’s genes, she was destined to follow in her family’s footsteps. G.E.M. composed her first song at the young age of 5, completed her piano study at 13, and continued on to win numerous singing competitions….
It was at the singing competition in 2006, “Spice it Up”, that brought the young 15-year-old G.E.M. to the attention of Hummingbird Music, which later started her career in the music industry.
Her first EP ‘G.E.M.’ was released in 2008, with that she took home all the “best newcomer” awards that year, and captured the attention of the entire music industry in Hong Kong by her soulful voice.
In 2009 with the launch of her second album 18…, G.E.M. had her first concert “18 Live” and in the same year, was voted as the top 5 “Favorite Female Singer” in Hong Kong.
G.E.M.’s latest album “MySecret” released in October 2010, with the majority of songs and lyrics written by herself, was the top selling album in Hong Kong, outselling Taylor Swift’s album “Speak Now”.
In May 2011, G.E.M. held a three nights sellout concert “Get Everybody Moving 2011” in the Hong Kong Coliseum, making her the youngest female singer to ever hold a concert in the Hong Kong Coliseum.
As an influential role model for the Chinese youth, G.E.M. supports the non profit organization Project Kaisei – a non-profit organization focused on increasing awareness of the scale of marine debris and the solutions for both prevention and cleanup.
She also actively promotes another charity group called “Changing Young Lives Foundation” which is committed to helping underprivileged youngsters and changing young lives for the better, both in Hong Kong and the Mainland.
With a total of over 37 million views of G.E.M.’s YouTube channel and with her constantly growing fan base, the young star is definitely on her way to living her dream of inspiring her peers to built a brighter tomorrow.
